1. When to Plant: Direct sow outdoors after all danger of frost has passed and soil is warm, or start indoors 4-6 weeks before the last frost.
2. Preparation: Select a location with full sun (at least 6-8 hours) and well-draining soil. These zinnias love rich earth!
3. Sowing: Sow seeds 1/4 inch deep. Lightly cover and keep moist until germination.
4. Care: Water at the base of the plants to avoid wetting the leaves. Deadhead regularly to encourage the plant to keep pumping out those sunny yellow blooms!
5. Pests and Diseases: Fairly resistant to most pests, but watch for powdery mildew. Ensuring good spacing for airflow is the secret to keeping these "birds" happy and healthy.
