Nasturtium (Jewel Mix) Planting Instructions:
1. When to Plant: Direct sow in late spring. Nasturtiums don't like being moved, so it's best to plant them right where they will stay.
2. Preparation: Don't use too much fertilizer! If the soil is too "rich," you'll get lots of leaves but very few flowers. They love "poor" soil.
3. Sowing: Plant seeds 1 inch deep. They like the dark to germinate.
4. Care: These are the ultimate "set it and forget it" plants. They will thrive with very little attention and moderate watering.
5. Pests and Diseases: Aphids love them—which is good! They act as a "trap crop," keeping the bugs off your nearby vegetables.
