Providing Quality Heirloom & Non-GMO Seeds Since 2012
(100% Non-GMO, Heirloom)
Bring a piece of gardening history to your table with the highest quality Henderson's Bush Lima seeds. Often called the "Baby Lima," this variety has been a staple for American homesteaders since 1888 for one simple reason: it is a "Yield Machine." Even in fluctuating temperatures and tough soil, the Henderson’s Bush Lima produces a massive canopy of pods filled with small, creamy, and buttery beans. At The Seed Guy, we know that reliability is the key to food security, and this heirloom is the "Old Faithful" of the bean world.
In the garden, the Henderson's Bush Lima is an "Efficiency Expert." It matures earlier than many larger lima varieties, making it the premier choice for anyone who wants to "get your vitality on" sooner in the season. These compact, sturdy bushes don’t require poles, making them perfect for smaller garden plots or large-scale production. Just imagine a fresh harvest of tender baby limas, lightly sautéed or canned for the winter; that is the "Healthy Vibe" lifestyle in action. These beans are a nutritional goldmine, packed with fiber and plant-based protein to keep your family strong and energized. At The Seed Guy, we select only the most vigorous seeds to ensure your garden is a high-performance sanctuary of fresh, nutrient-dense food.
To maximize your summer harvest, consider pairing this "Reliable Heirloom" with our Heirloom Vegetable Seeds for a garden that produces from early summer all the way to the first frost!

Henderson's Bush Lima Planting Instructions:
1. Timing: Plant in late spring once the soil has warmed to at least 65°F. Henderson's are slightly more tolerant of varying conditions than larger limas, but they still thrive best in consistent warmth.
2. Sowing: Choose a full-sun location. Sow seeds 1 to 1.5 inches deep, spaced 4-6 inches apart. If planting in rows, space rows 24-30 inches apart to allow for its vigorous "Dwarf" bush habit.
3. Care: These beans are light feeders; avoid excessive nitrogen which can lead to "all leaves and no beans." Provide consistent water while the plants are flowering to prevent pod drop.
4. Harvesting: Pick pods when they are 3 inches long and feel well-filled. For the most tender "Baby Lima" flavor, harvest while the pods are still bright green before they begin to yellow.
5. Pests & Disease: Henderson's is known for its natural resistance to many common bean diseases. Keep the garden clear of debris to prevent Aphids or Bean Beetles from taking up residence.
