    Champion Radish Planting Instructions:

    1. When to Plant: Radishes love the cool weather! Sow outdoors as soon as the soil can be worked in the spring. For a continuous harvest, sow a new batch every 10 days until the weather turns hot.

    2. Preparation: Select a location with full sun and loose, well-draining soil. Because radishes grow so fast, they don't need heavy fertilizers, but they do need soil that is free of rocks so the roots can expand uniformly.

    3. Sowing: Sow seeds 1/2 inch deep. If you are planting in rows, space the rows about 8-12 inches apart. Radish seeds are small but mighty; they will pop out of the ground in just a few days!

    4. Care: The secret to a mild radish is moisture. Keep the soil consistently damp; if the soil dries out, the radishes will become "hot" and woody. Thin the seedlings to 1-2 inches apart as soon as they are an inch tall.

    5. Pests and Diseases: Flea beetles are the most common pest, leaving tiny holes in the leaves. You can use a light row cover to protect the young greens. Harvest as soon as the roots reach about an inch in diameter for the best flavor.
