      Spring Rapini Broccoli Planting Instructions:

      1. Timing: Rapini prefers cool weather. Plant in full sun to partial shade in early spring as soon as the soil can be worked, or sow in late summer for a fall crop.

      2. Sowing: Sow seeds 1/4 inch deep directly into the garden. Space seeds about 2 inches apart and thin to 4-6 inches once they are established.

      3. Care: Keep the soil consistently moist. Because Rapini grows so quickly, it needs steady water to prevent the stems from becoming tough or the plant from "bolting" (going to seed) too early in the heat.

      4. Harvesting: Harvest the entire plant or individual stems when they reach 10-12 inches tall, just as the small flower buds begin to appear but before they open into yellow flowers.

      5. Pests & Disease: Similar to other brassicas, watch for cabbage worms. Hand-picking or using lightweight row covers can keep your greens pristine and hole-free.
